It's not uncommon for project and programme management roles to initially be filled by scientists with an aptitude for planning but without much specific experience or training - or that scientists are expected to do the programme management as well as leading the science. At the same time, in small organisations and tightly knit teams whose members fill many different roles, it is important for all stakeholders to be aware of why planning is helpful and the positive impact it will have. More eyes on the ball will reinforce the overall direction, lead to problems being spotted sooner and high-level solutions being co-discovered more often. All are key ingredients for agility in dynamic environments!
I can provide training in various forms and tailored to the specific needs of your team or individually - finding solutions that work for everyone and helping to make sure that your scientists have more time to focus on the science.
